Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ:TMRK), a leading provider of managed IT infrastructure services, today brings cloud computing to the enterprise with a revolutionary new managed platform for mission-critical applications and infrastructure. The Enterprise Cloud™ is powered by an enhanced version of Terremark’s industry-leading Infinistructure™ utility computing platform and leverages the company’s top-tier data centers and access to massive and diverse network connectivity. Terremark's Enterprise Cloud customers will, for the first time, have unprecedented control and flexibility over enterprise-class, Internet-optimized computing infrastructure. Customers will be able to deploy fully configured production servers in minutes, dramatically reducing implementation times usually measured in weeks.
“Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud clients buy a dedicated resource pool of processing, memory, storage and networking, from which they can deploy servers on demand,” said Randy Rowland, Senior Vice President of Product Development for Terremark. “This ‘Gigahertz and Gigabytes’ model gives customers more flexibility and agility over the traditional server-based model, allowing for a precise and dynamic allocation of computing resources as needed.”
At the center of Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud is the company’s new Infinicenter™ web portal, software that allows customers to dynamically provision servers from a pre-allocated pool of dedicated computing resources. Servers can be configured and provisioned in minutes, grouped and organized according to role, and dynamically extended according to utilization. A variety of preconfigured server roles are available across Microsoft Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems. Plug-and-play bandwidth on demand is available from more than 160 global carriers. Infinicenter also provides a full reporting interface that allows instant insight into resource utilization and application performance.
Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud has been designed from the ground up to meet the needs of enterprises and their mission-critical applications:
- Performance – The Enterprise Cloud’s underlying server and storage infrastructure comes from best-in-class strategic partners including HP, IBM, Cisco, VMWare and 3Par.
- Compliance – Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud infrastructure is PCI compliant and meets rigorous standards including SAS 70 Type II and HIPAA.
- Security – Enterprise Cloud infrastructure is supported by industry-leading data security technologies and secure information services experts.
- Availability – Redundant design at each layer of the platform allows Terremark to offer service level agreements at the levels required by enterprise clients.
- Support – The complete suite of Terremark’s managed services from platform and application management to security and disaster recovery services will be available in The Enterprise Cloud over the coming months.
"Enterprises have begun to embrace cloud computing as the leading edge of innovative IT solutions,” said Daniel Golding, Vice President and Research Director for Tier1 Research. “The key differentiators between cloud solutions that will win and those that won't are ease of management, rapid provisioning, support for common operating systems, and tight integration with storage and security. Cloud services that can deliver those requirements are on the fast track to enterprise acceptance."
“The future of I.T. is in the cloud, and we’re proud to bring this flexibility, scale and control to enterprise companies,” said Manuel D. Medina, Chairman and CEO of Terremark. “Our enterprise customers are now armed with a revolutionary new way to acquire, provision and manage enterprise infrastructure.”
